It's officially summer now that the kids are out of school. We have been waiting for this summer to get here since last summer. We knew from the beginning of the process that we would be bringing our daughter home this summer. I'm so excited and ready to have her home with us.
We have learned that she's a girlie girl who likes to wear pretty things. She also loves chocolate and likes to draw. The long wait to this little princess is going to be so worth it! She was about 14 months old in the first picture and the second picture was taken recently. I love those dimples!

6 Weeks?
6 Weeks seems like a long time. 42 days. Ryan was 6 weeks premature. 6 weeks more in the womb and he would have been healthier and not spent 8 days in the NICU.
6 weeks- the adoption agency is telling us that we only have about 6 weeks left to wait. So, I'm trying to be patient and remember that I shouldn't want to become her mother before God wants me to be. It would be so much easier if He would lay out the plan in front of me from the beginning. But, then again, that would take away all the wonder and surprise.

Please Pray
This has nothing to do with our adoption, but I feel that as many people should be praying for our community as possible. After last week's storms, many families have been left homeless or have lost friends and loved ones. I have prayed in general for everyone, but have specifically prayed for Katie Cornwall's family. She was a freshman at Sparkman where Ryan attends school. I cannot imagine losing one of my children, so please pray with me for this family. Her grandfather was also lost that day as a storm ripped through their home. God is faithful and good though. He will provide us with strength and comfort.

More great news
Happy Easter! Christ is risen. He is risen indeed!
My semester of school is over and things will begin to settle down a bit. In the craziness of this past week, I didn't post our latest happy news. Trevor also asked Jesus into his heart this past week on Wednesday night. He has believed for quite a while, but he realized after seeing Spencer make his decision that he needed to actually profess his beliefs. We are so proud and thrilled. All three boys have now become Christians!
As we were getting ready for service this morning (we went to the early service!), I realized that next year I'll have a little girl on Easter. I'll need to help her get ready and do her hair, and then there will be Easter pictures. I can't wait!

LOA and Happy Stuff
Things have been super crazy around here! I have my final for my mythology class Thursday evening, so I need to be concentrating on that. But it's hard to think about anything other than our adoption. We received our letter of acceptance on Monday, which is sooner than we thought it would be. We've been working on that paperwork and trying to get that back to our agency ASAP. I'm so ready to bring this little girl home!
I also want to share with everyone that Spencer asked Jesus into his heart on Sunday night. I cannot tell you how excited we were about this. I called my parents to tell them, and my mom told me that my dad had just prayed that morning for Spencer to make the decision to follow Christ. How cool is that! God is so good! He is only eight, but I've seen a change in him. He seems to be constantly praying- I should follow his example.
The picture was taken a couple of weeks ago. Spencer put Katie's picture on his bulletin board and then drew a self-portrait beside it. The word bubble says "I love Katie."

Family
I'm posting some family pictures for those of you who have recently become our friends. We are so blessed to follow your blogs and excited to share our journey with you. It is so touching to see how the adopted children grow and blossom when they find their forever families. We have found such inspiration in other's stories and hope that we can encourage other families as they wait to bring their child home.

Chatty
Apparently Katie loves to talk on the phone. She's definitely my child! The first picture was in the hospital right after her surgery last April. The second picture was taken in February for the Chinese New Year.
